The Very Reverend David A. duPlantier, Dean

The Very Reverend David duPlantier has served as Dean and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral since 2002. He earned a Masters of Divinity from General Theological Seminary (New York) in 1993, and received the Seminary’s Distinguished Alumnae Award in 2009. He also leads the Boards of the Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative, Project Homecoming Homebuilders, and the American Friends of the Spafford Children’s Center (Jerusalem) and is the Dean of the Uptown New Orleans Deanery of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. Dean duPlantier is married to Karla, and has two adult children: Daniel and Sarah.

The Reverend Canon Steven M. Roberts, Canon

The Reverend Canon Steven Roberts has served at Christ Church Cathedral since 2002. He earned a Masters of Divinity from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary (Chicago) in 1996 and has served in several churches in Louisiana before coming to the Cathedral. His ministry finds him in a variety of settings: blessing pets and bicycles; offering Ashes-To-Go in front of the Cathedral; working with young people; developing and leading our 6 pm Contemplative Eucharist (Real Presence); serving as chaplain to the Cathedral’s chapter of Daughters of the King; coordinating IT and digital media. He is married to Linda and they have a menagerie of dogs and cats.

The Reverend Travers C. Koerner, Priest Associate

The Rev’d Travers Koerner is a Tulane & General Theological Seminary graduate. He served churches in New York City, including the Cathedral of St John the Divine. Before returning home to New Orleans, he was Rector of St Bartholomew’s Church in the Diocese of Washington, DC.

The Reverend David B. Lowry, Theologian in Residence

The Reverend Canon David Lowry was Dean of Christ Church Cathedral from 1986 through 1990.  He resigned that position to become a vice president at Freeport McMoRan Inc, and Director of the Freeport-McMoran Foundation.  He retired from Freeport in 2004 and moved to the Diocese of Long Island where he was Rector of Christ Church, Manhasset, Interim Director of the Desmond Tutu Center at the General Theological Seminary and Interim Dean of the Mercer School of Theology.  He retired from Christ Church in 2013 and returned to New Orleans.  He has served as Theologian in Residence at Christ Church Cathedral since 2014.  He has a bachelor degree in classical languages from Hamilton College, STM and M. Div. degrees from the General Theological Seminary and a MA and Ph.D from Indiana University.  He has served as Theologian in Residence at Christ Church Cathedral since 2014.

The Reverend Gigi Conner, Priest Associate

The Reverend Gigi Conner came to the cathedral as Priest Associate in September 2023. Mother Gigi had retired from St. Alban’s in St. Petersburg Beach in Florida after 31 years of ordained ministry in several dioceses. She will periodically celebrate weekday masses and will mostly worship in the congregation on Sundays. She will also offer Bible study.
